NIGHT 990. THE CASE BEGINS.
Harm no human for 1,000 days, and she can become one. Baek Yeoul, an investigator at the Hidden Residents' Office, has only ten days left.
Then a string of murders in Seoul begins to point back to her. Caught between human law and the rules of the Hidden Side, Yeoul must clear her name.

Each sees a different side of the case.
A gumiho (kumiho), a nine-tailed fox, working as a district office investigator. On the Hidden Side, she settles disputes between its residents. After 990 hungry days, she is following a murder trail that leads back to herself.
INVESTIGATOR / FOX SPIRIT / SUSPECT
A detective with the Metropolitan Investigation Unit, assigned to the Seoul murders. The evidence takes him beyond the city he thought he knew. He is still searching for the partner who disappeared five years ago.
DETECTIVE / EVIDENCE / TRUST
A university student whose older sister was murdered. She follows the footage and records left behind to piece together her sister's last night. To Somi, this is a person's life, not a case number.
